Red Hat & Cisco integrate Virtualization Technology

Red Hat and Cisco strengthen their collaboration in providing virtualization solutions by integrating technology, the Cisco Virtual Network link ( VN-Link ) and Red Hat Enterprise Virtualization.

With this integration, costumer of Red Hat and Cisco will get the chance to achieve better performance, visibility and network control that much better, and reduce total cost of ownership in the utilization of data center virtualization.

Cisco Unified Computing System Integration Virtual Interface Card with Kernel-based Virtual Machine ( KVM )
hypervisor included with Red Hat Enterprise Virtualization aims to create a network domain and virtualization increasingly integrated so that it makes use of the data center.

The advantage gained by this solution is that virtual machine can access phsycal input and output, increase network througput and frees CPU cycles to deliver a higher density applications and increase the density of virtual machine for better performance.

With the VN-Link virtual machine for each application running on Red Hat Enterprise Virtualization, customers can manage and secure the virtual enviroment more easily and visibility and network control better.

" With the integration between Cisco Unified Computing System and Red Hat Enterprise Virtualization, we are offerng increased virtualization performance to our customers," said Brian Steven, chief technology office and vice president of engineering, Red Hat, through its official statement on Monday ( 19 / 07 / 2010 ).

" Red Hat become the first Linux vendor to offer virtualization solutions with VN-Link with Cisco, which marks an importan step in virtualization and Red Hat Linux technology leadership," he added.

" Growth in data center virtualization and cloud computing, combined with the use of Linux-based server infrastructure, has created the need for server virtualization solutions easier for its management," added Ed Bugnion, chief technology officer, Cisco's Server Access and Virtualization.
